Flying Robot

For “Choose One” i selected the task of getting an HBridge to control the direction of a DC Motor.  To show off the functionality, I connected my motor to a mechanism to raise and lower a toy robot.

My first task was to create a three state switch.  I wanted one switch that would turn the motor clockwise, counter-clockwise, or off.  I made it out of clothes pins, metal binder clips, and (only because the colorful paint did not conduct) paper clips.  Each stop turned was connected to a separate “pull-up” resistor switch being sampled by arduino.

Next i wired the HBridge to control the motor, using this site as a reference.

The code for my deice was rather simple.  One stop turns the motor one clockwise, the other counter-clockwise, and if neither switch is closed, the motor stops.
