01.tangible examples

For review Thursday January, and the following week.

Find two (2) examples of tangible interactions worthy of discussion.  What makes them great  (or not) ?  What makes them examples of tangible interaction?  (or not)?  What are their principal characteristics or features?  Who made them and why?  How do they work?  etc.   Please be prepared to explain and discuss.

Please add your example as a blog “post” (not a comment).  Select “01. Tangible Examples” as the category for your post.

    Keepon dancing robot
dances to the music really well, better than any other robot with the same purpose I’ve seen.

Piano stairs, set up by thefuntheory.com – a group sponsored by volswagen to make daily tasks that help people out more fun, which leads people to do them more often. Ex: more people take the stairs instead of escalator if they are fun to go up.

For this they used a camera and sensors on the stairs to know which stair is being stepped on.

  2. as a follow to yoni’s post, I really like this example from fun theory

using fun as a motivator for good behavior is super interesting.
